April 28 is dedicated to those workers who been injured, killed or had their health compromised by work related illness. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. as city workers and their unions gather at City Hall. Mike Davidson, President of CUPE 500 is among those scheduled to speak. Workers of Tomorrow Leaders Walk at Noon from the Union Centre to Legislature. Manitoba Federation of Labour candlelight service at 6:00 p.m.

This is a joint presentation of the MayWorks Festivals in Winnipeg, Toronto and Edmonton featuring some of the best young poets from each city.
Boonaa Mohammed, Truth Is, Pip Skid, Emcee E and Rafeef Ziadah are five young award-winning poets who’ve got something to say. They will be performing original poems commissioned for the tour.
