MayWorks Festival of Labour and the Arts 2018 Call for Submissions

Posted November 20th, 2017

Event Submission Form

The theme for MayWorks 2018 is “Human Needs – Neither Optional or Negotiable”.  We examine the struggle of working people to maintain hard fought victories and forestall defeats in the face of corporate and government push for austerity as well as ownership and control of all the supplies of food, water, energy and production. We also want to challenge those who attempt to silence or discredit those who raise their voices in protest on behalf of the people with no voice!

MayWorks was first established as a Festival of Labour and the Arts in Winnipeg in 1994 as part of the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the 1919 general strike in Winnipeg. There are MayWorks Festivals in many other Canadian cities in May and all celebrate the contributions of working people through various forms of artistic expressions, displays, or other relevant expressions.

All artists, organizations, or anyone proposing an event are requested to submit this form on or before Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at 5:00PM to MayWorks at info@mayworks.org

Submissions received will be reviewed and a decision made regarding acceptance into MayWorks 2018.
